Selected date

Tuesday December 2

Selected time

5:30 PM  –  8:30 PM

You're invited to join us for an evening exploring the realities, challenges, and new hope of wolves returning to Colorado's landscape. Attendance is free for Zoo members and all guests, but capacity is limited so registration is required.

The panel includes representatives from Working Circle, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and National Wildlife Federation, and father-and-daughter ranchers who are living and working on the Western Slope. Cheyenne Mountain Zoo President & CEO, Bob Chastain, will introduce the program and panelists.

Join us at 5:30 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 2 at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, for a free evening of learning and reflection with local ranchers, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and conflict reduction experts to:

  • Explore the realities of wolves and livestock on the landscape.
  • Hear directly from a Colorado ranching family.
  • Discover a better way forward for wolves, livestock, and people.

The agenda for the event will be:

  • 5:30 p.m. pre-program reception
  • 6-7:30 p.m. program
  • 7:30-8 p.m. panel and audience Q&A
  • 8:30 p.m. event ends

Light refreshments and soft drinks will be served.

After a public vote that supported wolf reintroduction in Colorado, in 2023, ten wolves were released to the Western Slope of Colorado for the first time since the species was eradicated from the state in 1940. Wolf reintroduction comes with great opportunity and substantial challenges.

The National Wildlife Federation and Working Circle are committed to finding lasting solutions for people and wildlife. To ensure the long-term success of wolf restoration, these organizations are investing in on-the-ground conflict reduction strategies to find science-based, win-win solutions for ranchers and wolves.
